A former Wall Street bond trader shared his career experiences after the publishing of an article called An Ode To Those Who Wander. The bond trader wanted to discuss GNC Holdings, Inc. He confessed that he been following the publisher’s work about the company and he had been developing a large position in his PA.
The bond trader is a former student from Penn State. He luckily got an internship program at Merrill Lynch where he served at the credit desk in NYC. He spent the subsequent three years at the company due to his hard work. While there, he was placed on the bond desk to trade credit.
The bond trader also used his vast experience in credit trading at Longacre, the $3 billion hedge fund firm. During his tenure at Longacre, he met the current founder of Kerrisdale Dynasty, Sahm. Later, the bond trader relocated to work in Paulson & Co and made shorting mortgage bonds amounting to $6 billion. He also worked at the renowned Browery Investment Management as a credit PM. The bond trader exited the Wall Street, in June 2015, due to the high living cost in New York and the view that credit trading had changed in the industry.
