Whitney Wolfe Herd Has Bigger Plans for Bumble in the Coming Years

There are thousands of dating apps out there, and it can be difficult for a new company to make its presence felt. But, Bumble, one of the leading dating apps dedicated to women, has covered a large part of this industry by focusing on the needs of women when it comes to dating. The app, which was launched in December 2014, managed to get more than 100,000 downloads within the first month. Bumble has been growing rapidly and currently has more than 22 million users registered with them. The success of Bumble goes to its founder and CEO, Whitney Wolfe Herd.

Whitney Wolfe Herd wanted to create a dating app that gave the power in the hands of women. In one of her interviews, she said that the modern women were ready to take the first step rather than waiting for the man to pop the question. Apart from the dating app, she also has two other apps, Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz that helps make connections in the friendship and the professional part of a woman’s life. She feels that relationships are essential for the physical and the mental well being a person and she aims to provide a digital platform for women to achieve it.

Bumble recently moved into their new headquarters in Austin in Texas, and it is entirely different than what one would expect from a digital company. The company was earlier operating from a two-bedroom apartment since its inception in 2014 but recently moved to its large corporate headquarter. The interiors of the entire office have been created to reflect the feminine power and offer many perks to its employees, majority of whom are women. The new headquarter has a salon, a fully stocked bar and a cold brew coffee on tap.

Whitney Wolfe Herd was also on the cover of the Forbes ‘30 under 30’ issue that is set to be released in December. Apart from her successful professional life, she has also been quite successful in personal life. She recently married Michael Herd, who owns restaurants and oil and gas businesses across the country, in Positano, Italy. The two met during a vacation in Aspen in 2013 and hit it off immediately. They have been dating since then and decided to marry back in 2015, but the wedding got delayed because of work commitments.
